Rollins Wind began commercial operations on July 20, 2011.  The project is located about 8 miles east of the town of Lincoln, ME, and consists of 40 1.5 MW wind turbines with a total capacity of 60 MW – enough power annually for about 23,000 homes.

Throughout the construction process, First Wind has worked with local businesses whenever possible, engaging 97 Maine-based companies, 19 of which are in the immediate area. Over $29 million was spent with Maine-based companies on development and construction.  Amid stressful economic conditions, the Rollins project contracted with and employed hundreds of Mainers, supporting about 200 full-time positions throughout construction.
