Kawailoa Wind is a 69 megawatt (MW) wind farm on Oahu. The project is located on Kamehameha Schools’ Kawailoa Plantation lands, about 5 miles northeast of Hale‘iwa town on the north shore. The Project is a part of Kamehameha Schools’ North Shore Plan and was developed with extensive input from the local community. 

The wind farm consists of thirty 2.3 MW Siemens wind turbine generators, located a mile mauka of Kamehameha Highway. Kawailoa Wind is producing enough clean, renewable energy to power about 14,500 O‘ahu homes, meeting as much as 5-10% of the island’s electrical load.*
