Bull Hill Wind was First Wind’s fifth project completed in Maine and joined an already successful fleet of wind farms established by the company. The 34 megawatt (MW) project, which consists of 19 Vestas turbines, generates enough energy to power over 12,000 homes. The cost-effective, clean energy produced by Bull Hill will save rate-payers about $57 million over fifteen years. The project will also provide Eastbrook and surrounding rural communities in Hancock County with significant tax revenue and community benefit funds to sustain economic development throughout the life of the project.
