Get Involved

If you’d like to help protect the environment, encourage wind farm development in your community, or take a tour of a working wind farm, we’d like to hear from you. There are a variety of ways for you to get involved.

Start an action group
Get your friends and neighbors interested in renewable energy by forming an action group in your community. First Wind can help by providing you with information and literature about wind power. Action groups are effective for outreach to the public, lobbying authorities and legislators, and can serve an informational resource to others in the community.

Contact your representatives
You can help pave the way for wind in your area by encouraging your local, state and federal legislators to support renewable energy policies.

Tell us about your community
At First Wind, we want to build in communities that want us as a neighbor. Let us know about your town or region and we’ll take a look at the geographic and man-made conditions that are necessary for a successful wind farm. We then undertake rigorous, multi-year scientific studies to explore the potential of a wind farm in each community.

Lease your land
First Wind offers competitive pricing models for landowners interested in leasing their land for a wind farm. Through a land lease with First Wind, you share in the revenue earned from the turbines on your land or for providing siting easements. First Wind’s wind farms won’t interfere with the current use of your land so you can continue farming, logging, or simply enjoying nature.
