Mike Gresham is currently Vice President of First Wind in Hawaii which is the development joint venture between First Wind Partners, LLC and Makani Nui Associates, LLC. Mike manages the company’s new project development in the State of Hawaii.
Before joining First Wind, Mike was President of Makani Nui Associates, LLC the Maui based partner for development in the State of Hawaii. While at Makani Nui the companies developed, financed and constructed the 30 MW Kaheawa Wind Power Project on which is now in full operation.
Prior to joining Makani Nui, Mike held the position of Founder, President and CEO of the California based company NextWeb, Inc. NextWeb is a Wireless Internet Service provider that designs, owns and operates a wireless network in the San Francisco and Los Angles regions of California, providing broadband connectivity and services to small and medium sized business customers. At NextWeb, Mike was responsible for initial development of the business plan, raising seed and venture capital, business formation, strategic planning, sales and marketing and the profitability of the enterprise.
Prior to founding NextWeb, Mike was President and General Manager of the Wireless Interconnect division of Glenayre Electronics, then a NASDAQ 100 company. Mike managed facilities in California and Vancouver Canada for the design, manufacture, sales and marketing of microwave radio products for telecommunications use. Mike held complete P&L responsibility for the division’s activities. Most domestic customers were Fortune 1000 companies, and the companies products were installed in more than 35 countries worldwide.
