Patrick Caramante is responsible for First Wind’s turbine procurement and warranty enforcement. In addition, he oversees engineering services for Development and Construction as well as Operations and Management.

Career Highlights
Mr. Caramante has over 27 years of experience in all aspects of the electric generation industry, beginning with his role as a Field Engineer for GE’s Installation and Service Engineering division. Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in the construction, commissioning, operation, maintenance, and management of projects that utilize GT-CC, GT-SC, and fossil-fired steam turbine technology.

While working in the fossil-fired electric generating industry for a subsidiary of GPU International, Mr. Caramante was Asset Director for a 770 MW conventional steam/GT-CC project in Colombia and was responsible for compliance and coordination of over 20 lenders in five branches totaling $400 million.

For the last seven and a half years, he has focused exclusively on projects that generate electricity from the wind, serving as a Vice President at Garrad Hassan America and the General Manager of Wind Operations for FPL Energy prior to joining First Wind. Among his duties were asset management, operations management, and commercial/technical consulting.

As a consultant, he worked on many of the wind projects developed and completed in the U.S. from 2004 to 2006. His wind industry experience includes operational management of projects in seven states totaling over 600 MW. He was also the technical leader for two first-of-their-kind financings of seven wind projects that encompassed $600 million in borrowing
